i am so sick and tired of rude and cranky nurses in the L&D. i gave birth 3 months ago to my second child, and it was the worse experience in my life. i also had a bad experience in the hospital when i gave birth to my first, 3 years ago. it was at sonora regional in sonora, ca. one of the times is where i was hurting so bad and i had my son on my bed in between my legs trying to change his diaper and just couldnt do it (i was in pain) so i called a nurse to help me. she came in was very rough with my son and looked at me and said i was going to have to figure it out the next time. well i had already changed his diaper 3 times before that. and i felt like all of them were treating me like i didnt know what i was doing cause i was a 19 year old mother. so this last time was a nightmare compared to that. it was at marshall in placerville, ca. there is just too much to write about that place but one of the times is after i gave birth i was having really bad blood clots and had to be put on potocin for the whole night. and i fainted 2 times after giving birth, so the first nurse told me i could not get out of bed without help from one of them. well she left and didnt tell me who my new nurse was. so i had to go to the bathroom and so i called the nurse to come help, well 20 mins later went by and she didnt come so my husband went out to the desk and asked if someone could help me (i needed help cleaning in the area down there, so i didnt want my hubby to see or help in that area) a very rude nurse came in and helped me get to the restroom and i pulled off those cloth undies and asked if she could fill the bottle with warm water, she then asked me why i didnt get that before i sat down. well duh? so then she gave new undies and went to my bed and remove all the plastic pads and the cloth ones, and then left the room. she never came back to help me, so hubby put the baby down and helped me. and when i got to the bed she never put padding back on, so i stood there while hubby went to go find her, i was bleeding alot and didnt want to get any on the bed. so she came back in and said there is padding on there under the sheet, so its ok. so i was like whatever and layed back down. well it was now 10pm and hubby had to go (its was pathetic i had to share a room with another patient so hubby wasnt aloud to stay). so no one came to check up on me until 3am!! i didnt even know cause i was passed out, and when the new nurse woke me i heard her say "Hun, are you ok?" i was sweating, running a fever, and i was bleeding so much it was about to drip on the floor! my baby was hungry and i was so far gone i didnt hear her whimpering! she asked me when was the last time someone check on me, i told her and she was pissed. her shift ended a few hours later, but she was the only nice one, and she got a hold of my doctor in the middle of the night to tell her what was going on, so i ended up having to get some sort of shot to stop the bleeding. a few weeks after i got a survey in the mail, and sent it back in telling them ALL my bad experiences that i had while i was staying there and it asked if i wanted to be reached and i said yes, but so far no one has called me about it. anyways i am just so mad, the birthing experience is expose to be special but it is also very frighting, so why is it that 3 out of 4 nurses have no bed side manner? im so sick of it, do they really hate their jobs? i get the worst so called 'customer experience' than i do in any restaurants. is anyone else sick of it, and had any bad experiences? and where at?...
